Griots Poetry presents the acclaimed Farrago Poetry Slam, featuring founder John Paul O'Neill and guest poets Cat Wyllie-Fox and Kandace Siobhan Walker, at The Globe on 21st May 2023. O'Neill leads a 2-hour afternoon Masterclass, The Art of Slam (3-5pm), followed by a Slam Competition with special guests and judges at 7 pm. Reduced tickets for selected entrants.

John Paul O'Neill, a prominent poet and performance artist, founded Farrago Poetry, Europe's groundbreaking slam poetry group, and the UK's oldest ongoing slam event. He organizes the annual Farrago Festival of Spoken Word and UK SLAM! Championships and hosts events globally.

Guest poet Cat Wyllie-Fox, owner of The Sandwich Cellar cafe in Hay-On-Wye, discovered her passion for writing and performing poetry at 57. Her recently published first book features a compilation of heartfelt, gutsy poems written in chronological order.

Kandace Siobhan Walker, a writer and artist with Jamaican-Canadian, Saltwater Geechee, and Welsh heritage, writes fiction, poetry, and non-fiction, and creates moving image and installation works. Her published works include Kaleido (2022) and the upcoming collection Cowboy (2023). She has received numerous accolades, including the Eric Gregory Award, The White Review Poet's Prize, and the Guardian 4th Estate BAME Short Story Prize.

O'Neill's extensive work includes publishing, spoken word projects, radio shows, and creative writing workshops. His impact on slam poetry and creative writing is felt worldwide, as he continues to inspire writers around the globe.
